Short-Rib Skeletal Dysplasia

ความผิดปกติของกระดูกแขนขาสั้นจำนวนมาก มี่ควาัมสัมพันธ์กับกระดูกซี่โครงสั้น

มีหลายโรคที่มีลักษณะเด่นที่ทรวงอกเล็กซึ่งสัมพันธ์กับซี่โครงสั้นมาก ซึ่งสาเหตุสำคัญสำคัญได้แก่ คือ

  • short-rib polydactyly syndrome
  • asphyxiating thoracic dystrophy (คล้ายกัน แต่แขนขาสั้นเพียงเล็กน้อยถึงปานกลาง และนิ้วเกินมีเพียงร้อยละ 14)
  • Ellis-van Creveld syndrome (เหมือนกับ SRP I/III มาก)
  • Thanatophoric dyplasia (ปกติแล้วไม่มีนิ้วเกิน)

สามชนิดแรกมีลักษณะคล้ายกัน ถ่ายทอดทางพันธุกรรมแบบ autosomal recessive เหมือนกัน บางชนิดอาจเป็นสเปคตรัมของโรคเดียวกัน มีลักษณะสำคัญคือ แขนขาสั้น ซี่โครงสั้น ทรวงอกแคบ แต่มีลักษณะเด่นที่แตกต่างกันไปบ้าง เช่น

SRP แขนขาสั้นมากทุกส่วนแบบสมมาตร มีนิ้วเกิน มีความผิดปกติของระบบหัวใจ และทางเดินปัสสาวะ-สืบพันธุ์ผิดปกติร่วมด้วยได้

Jeune syndrome แขนขาสั้นเล็กน้อยถึงปานกลาง แบบ rhizomelia แต่ไม่โก่ง ทรวงอกเล็ก เป็นรูประฆัง ซี่โครงสั้นและชี้แนวราบ กระดูกไหปลาร้าอาจโค้งกลับด้าน และ renal dysplasia มีนิ้วเกินได้ร้อยละ 14

Ellis-van Creveld syndrome แขนขาสั้นปานกลาง มีความผิดปกติของหัวใจกว่าครึ่งหนึ่ง โดยเฉพาะ ASD(2) ฟัน-เล็บฝ่อหรือหายไป ขนน้อย ส่วนหนึ่งมีนิ้วเกิน (post-axial) ซึ่งส่วนใหญ่เป็นกับนิ้วมือ
