Anomalies of the fetal abdomen:

A part of international course of “Practical Fetal Ultrasound”, aimed for fetal sonographers

This course (anomalies of the fetal abdomen): The most common abnormalities of the fetal abdomen (gasrointestinal tract, urinary tract, and ventral wall) include omphalocele, gastroschisis, ascites, pyelectasis, cystic kidney, renal agenesis, bowels obstruction. On routine screening ultrasound, be sure of the intact abdominal wall, fluid-filled stomach, no ascites, no abnormal mass or cyst, visualized bladder and normal-sized kidneys without dilated renal pelvis as well as normal amniotic fluid.
