VISA EXTENSION

The holders of Non-Immigrant Visa are initially granted a period of stay in the Kingdom not exceeding 90 days from the arrival date. Those who wish to stay longer than such period may apply for extension of stay at offices of the Immigration before the expiration date. They are advised to contact their department or IRU at least 3 weeks prior to their visa expiry date.

 

Required Documents (Non-ED Visa)

  • Copy of Passport
  • All copies of Non-Immigrant “ED” visa
  • Copy of Receipt of Notification (TM.30)
  • Copy of Departure card (TM.6) — (if any)
  • Copy of Receipt of notify 90 day — (if any)
  • Copy of CMU Transcript
  • Recent photograph (4 x 6 cm)

Required Documents (Non-B Visa)

  • Copy of Passport
  • Copy of Work Permit
  • All copies of Non-Immigrant “B” visa
  • Copy of Receipt of Notification (TM.30)
  • Copy of Departure card (TM.6) — (if any)
  • Copy of Receipt of notify 90 day — (if any)
  • Recent photograph (4 x 6 cm)

The fee for each visa extension is 1,900 Baht paid to Thai Immigration.

 

Note:

In the case of foreigners staying beyond the expiration date of the visa or delaying the visa extension process (Overstay), they must be fined and their work permit will be terminated. The minimum charge is 500 Baht per day, reaching a maximum fine of 20,000 Baht (when overstaying 40 or more days) paid to Immigration. They will need to leave Thailand to re-apply for a new visa and a new work permit which will be the same as the one they had before. Faculty of Medicine shall not accept any responsibility for foreigners who submit their extension late.
