Clinical Short Course / Fellowship Program Training for Medical Staff

Basic Information:

  • Position description: Observership – the observer can observe clinical activities at the OPD/Ward, including OR (no scrub in) upon agreement. The observer cannot have any independent clinical activities or academic credit given.
  • The time needed for arrangement:
    – please contact us > 6 months before the visit
    – please confirm the visit >4 months before the visit
    – please pay the tuition fee (if any) >3 months before the visit
  • Clinical/teaching activity hours: 20-30 hours/week (based on the agreement)
  • Some clinical activities may be in Thai, but most of the time a buddy will brief about the speaking contents in English.
  • Business casual attire for attending clinical/teaching activities.

Tuition fee:

Depends on the activities, specialties and MOU/MOA between institutions. All the training fees quoted do not include living costs or accommodation.

Regulations:

  1. The observer must follow the rules, regulations, and program schedule assigned by the supervisor.
  2. A certificate may be issued upon request if the observer has attended 80% or more of the training hours.
  3. The Faculty reserves the right to terminate the training program or decline to issue a certificate or any confirmation documents if an observer’s performance is inappropriate or goes against the Faculty’s regulations.
  4. English is the required language for interactions in our training programs. Applicants who are not native English speakers should be checked for proficiency at a level specified for the program. A strong level of English proficiency in listening, reading, writing, and speaking is required.
  5. The observer is recommended to arrange their own health evaluation, vaccinations, and health insurance before coming to Thailand.

How to apply for a training course at the Faculty of Medicine, CMU?

The applicant needs to submit the following documents to the International Relations Unit via email: frmedcmu@cmu.ac.th at least three months in advance of the requested start date.

  1. Application Form    Download APPLICATION-1
  2. Identification Photo (.png or .jpg file)
  3. Copy of the passport with a validity of not less than 6 months
  4. Curriculum Vitae
  5. Copy of degree, certification, and/or medical license
  6. Letter of certification from the applicant’s home institute (if applicable)

After the applicant receives an acceptance from us:

  • Immunization record
  • Copy of Health Insurance (for an amount of cover of at least 100,000 USD)

Remarks: The application will be passed by us to the relevant department / section that should be concerned to make consideration and approval. After the application is approved, we will get back to you with details of that course and stating the tuition fee.
