Clinical Short Course / Fellowship Program Training for Medical Staff Basic Information: Position Description:

• Observership: Observers can observe clinical activities at the Outpatient Department (OPD) wards and operating rooms (OR), with no scrubbing-in permitted.
• Observers cannot have any independent clinical activities or academic credit given.

Clinical/Teaching Activity Hours:

• Approximately 20-30 hours per week, based on the mutual agreement.

Dress Code:

• Business attire or uniform

Tuition Fee:

• Training fees depend on the chosen specialty, specific activities, and agreements (MOU/MOA) between institutions.
• The quoted training fees do not include living expenses or accommodation.

Regulations:

1. Observers must follow the rules, regulations, and program schedules assigned by supervisors.
2. Observers are required to attend all the scheduled training hours.
3. Observers shall be dismissed from the training program, be declined to issue a certificate or any confirmation documents in case of their inappropriate performance.
4. Observers must be able to communicate in English fluently. For those who are non-native English speakers, they should have an English proficiency in listening, reading, writing, and speaking at the intermediated level. Some activities may be conducted in Thai, a buddy will provide English summaries for better understanding.
5. Observers are recommended to arrange their own health evaluations, vaccinations, and health insurance before arriving in Thailand.

How to Apply: 1.) Application Submission: Applicants must submit the following documents via email to the International Relations Office (IRO)

at frmedcmu@cmu.ac.th, at least 3 – 6 months before the intended start date:

3. A copy of the passport (valid for at least 6 months)
4. Curriculum Vitae (CV)
5. Copies of relevant degrees and certifications
6. Copies of medical licenses
7. A certification letter from the applicant’s home institution

Your application will be passed by IRO to the relevant department / section for consideration and approval.

2.) Upon receiving acceptance: Applicants must provide:

• All necessary documents required for applying for a Non-Immigrant ED Visa
• Immunization records
• Proof of health insurance covering at least 100,000 USD

Timeline for Arrangement:   Application submission by Email

• Step 1 – Application Submission (3-6 months in advance)
• Step 2 – Department revision and approval (3 months in advance) – Applications are reviewed by the relevant department or section for consideration and approval. – Once approved, detailed course information, including the tuition fee, will be communicated to the applicant.

  Upon receiving acceptance

• Step 3 – Program Confirmation and all necessary documents required for applying for a Non-Immigrant ED Visa, Immunization records,Proof of health insurance (2-3 months in advance)
• Step 4 – Visa application and approval at Thai Embassy/Consulate in home country (1-2 months in advance)
• Step 5 – Final Confirmation (1-2 weeks before the program starts)
• Step 6 – Start the program

Visa Information: After the Department approval, the applicants are required to apply for a Non-Immigrant ED Visa. This type of visa is issued to applicants who wish to enter Thailand

for educational purposes. According to the Immigration policy, the holders of ED Visa are permitted to stay in Thailand for a maximum of 90 days from the date of entry,

and this type of visa cannot be extended the period of stay under the training purpose; extensions are only granted to full-time or exchange students. IRO will facilitate necessary official supporting documents for applicants to submit at the Royal Thai Embassies or Royal Thai Consulates-General in their home/residence country

or at the designated Royal Thai Embassy or Royal Thai Consulate-General. Remark: Those who wish to apply for the program more than 3 months will be required to reapply for ED Visa at Thai Embassy or Consulate outside Thailand.
