Dientamoeba fragilis

• Trophozoite in stool specimes, Trichrome stained
• Amoeba-like, but belong to trichomonad taxonomically
• No cystic stage
• May have one or two nuclei
• Karyosome centrally placed in the nucleus and characteristcally made of several granules
