Plasmodium vivax

• Thin blood film, Giemsa stained
• Gametocyte, female
• Ovoidal in shape, deeply stained nucleus and bluish cytoplasm
• Schuffner’s dots appear as fine reddish dots on infected red cell membrane
• Infected red cell become irregular in shape and pale in color and enlarged
