Research interest

Over the last 10 years as staff at Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Sookkhee ’s laboratory has been involved in proteomic studies understanding the bacteriocins produced by lactobacillus and other probiotic species as well their medical application. His laboratory is also focused on developing an understanding of enzymes regarding the antibiotic resistance, and expanding research efforts on the multidisciplinary approaches to understand a variety of interests including the antimicrobial and anticancer activities, and the application of phytochemical ingredients.

Short biography

Dr. Sookkhee studied microbiology in Bachelor (Chulalongkorn University, 1994), and received a Master degree in pharmacy (1996) and Ph.D. in biopharmaceutical sciences (2000) for his studies on bacteriocin and protein secretion produced by Lactobacillus and other probiotic microorganisms at Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University. He worked as a lecturer on oral biology at Faculty of Dentistry, Chiang Mai university before he started his work at Faculty of Medicine at the same university since 2003.
