Message from the chair
The Department of Microbiology was established in 1963. Our department mission is to provide high quality education and research in the field of medical microbiology and immunology. To achieve this goal, we have formulated nourishing curricula to develop next generation scientists and conducted both basic and translational research. Our research topics mainly focus on human pathogens and host immune responses as well as immune-related diseases, especially in the context of Thailand and Southeast Asian region. We practice cutting-edge and multidisciplinary science that encompasses epidemiology, microbiology, immunology, molecular biology and multi-omics technology to address complex problems.
