Research interest

Assoc. Prof. Pattara’s research interests focuses on the molecular epidemiology of viral gastroenteritis in patients, animals, and environmental sources, development of a rapid diagnostic test and vaccine for gastroenteritis viruses. She has authored and co-authored more than 130 research papers and 6 book chapters.

Short biography

Assoc. Prof. Pattara earned her B.Sc. in Medical Technology and M.Sc. in Microbiology (Virology) at Chiang Mai University, Thailand in 1998 and 2004, respectively. She received The Japanese Government Scholarship (Monbukagakusho; MEXT) for her Ph.D. study at the University of Tokyo, Japan in 2004. She received her doctorate degree in 2008 and continued her research in Japan as a postdoctoral-fellow (Japan Society for the Promotion of Science) at Aino Health Science Center, Aino University, Tokyo, Japan until 2010 and joined the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University as a faculty member in 2010.
