Research interest

” I am interested in host-pathogen interaction especially innate immune response. My research focuses on Streptococcus suis infection, one of the most important zoonotic pathogens worldwide. Although several virulence factors have been identified, the pathogenesis of S. suis infection remains poorly understood. My present work mainly concentrates on the investigation of pyroptotic mechanism caused by different clinical isolates of S. suis. Meanwhile, I have also developed a CRISPR-Cas12a based assay for the rapid detection of S. suis in a clinical specimen.
The other area of my interest is cancer immunotherapy. In collaboration with the Division of Hematology, Department of Internal Medicine, our aim is to develop CAR-T cell for treating patients with leukemia or lymphoma. We also aim to identify neoantigen in cancer patients.”
