Welcome to the Department of Biochemistry…… The Department of Biochemistry is one of the sector in Faculty of Medicine Chiang Mai University focusing on research development and innovation together with creating post-graduate students at both of the Master’s and the Doctorate degrees with the international standards. The aim of department is to produce novel knowledge and high competency graduates to solve community problems in medicine and healthcare aligned with the strategies of the Faculty of Medicine and with Chiang Mai University. Therefore, two curriculums including Master of Science Program in Biochemistry and Doctor of Philosophy in Biochemistry (International) have been offered to attract both Thai and international students. Moreover the online course for lifelong learning will be constructed in nearly future.
At present, Thailand as well as other countries is entering the full aging society. Planning for the elderly in the country to have a good quality of life is a major policy of the nation. Therefore, the direction of research conducting with our postgraduates in the department is focusing on solving the health problems of the elders by the reduction of deterioration and premature aging. An “Anti-Aging Science” is coined as the research theme being carried out by strong research centers including Thai Tissue Engineering Excellent Center and Natural Product research center. Moreover, there are also clusters of research actively additionally producing research outcomes such as cluster of anti-carcinogenesis and apoptosis and cluster for metabolic diseases and oxidative stress. By these strong research groups, we are confident to productively contribute knowledge, innovation, personnel, and academic services. Moreover, each research teams also collaborate with their leading researchers as partnerships in national and international levels which provide research funds continuingly for both of research and postgraduate study benefits.

ยินดีต้อนรับเข้าสู่เว็บไซต์ของภาควิชาชีวเคมี คณะแพทยศาสตร์มหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่
ภาควิชาชีวเคมีเป็นหน่วยงานที่มุ่งเน้นการพัฒนางานวิจัยและการสร้างนวัตกรรม ร่วมกับการสร้างบัณฑิตแพทย์ และนักศึกษาระดับบัณฑิตศึกษาได้แก่ ระดับปริญญาโท และ ระดับปริญญาเอกให้ได้มาตรฐานสากล และเป็นที่ต้องการของสังคมโลกที่สอดคล้องกับยุทธศาสตร์ของคณะแพทยศาสตร์ และของมหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ ในการแก้ไขปัญหาของชุมชนในด้านการแพทย์ และสุขภาพ โดยภาควิชาฯ มีหลักสูตรที่รับผิดชอบ คือหลักสูตรวิทยาศาสตร์มหาบัณฑิตสาชาชีวเคมี และปรัชญาดุษฎีบัณฑิตสาขาชีวเคมี (นานาชาติ) ซึ่งสามารถตอบสนองความต้องการของทั้งนักศึกษาไทยและนักศึกษาต่างชาติได้เป็นจำนวนมาก ยิ่งไปกว่านั้น จะมีการจัดทำคอร์สออนไลน์เพื่อการเรียนรู้ตลอดชีวิต ในอนาคตอันใกล้นี้
เช่นเดียวกับประเทศอื่นๆทั่วโลก ในปัจจุบันประเทศไทยกำลังเข้าสู่สังคมผู้สูงอายุอย่างเต็มตัว การวางแผนเพื่อให้ผู้สูงอายุในประเทศได้มีคุณภาพชีวิตที่ดีนั้นถือเป็นนโยบายหลักของประเทศชาติ ดังนั้นทิศทางงานวิจัยและการสร้างบัณฑิตของภาควิชานั้นจะมุ่งเพื่อแก้ไขปัญหาสุขภาพของผู้สูงอายุ เพื่อลดความเสื่อมและการชะราก่อนวัยอันควร ที่เรียกว่าวิทยาศาสตร์ชะลอวัย หรือ Anti-Aging Science โดยขับเคลื่อนงานวิจัยที่เป็นทั้งศูนย์ที่มีความเข้มแข็งในด้านงานวิจัยได้แก่ Thai Tissue Engineering Excellent Center และ Natural Product research center อีกทั้งยังมีคลัสเตอร์ของงานวิจัยที่ผลิตผลงานวิจัยมากมาย ได้แก่ Anti-carcinogenesis and apoptosis, Cluster of Metabolic diseases และ Cluster for Oxidative stress เป็นต้น ซึ่งสามารถผลิตทั้งองค์ความรู้ นวัตกรรม บุคลากร และงานบริการวิชาการ อีกทั้งคณาจารย์และทีมวิจัยต่าง ๆ ยังมีคู่ความร่วมมือกับนักวิจัยชั้นนำในประเทศ และในต่างประเทศเป็นจำนวนมาก ซึ่งสามารถขอทุนวิจัยสำหรับนักศึกษาบัณฑิตได้อย่างต่อเนื่อง
