Stool Examination

People who have parasitic or helminth infections in the intestines, liver, lungs can be diagnosed by examining the stool. The sample amount of feces should be at least the size of your thumb and placed in a clean container. no urine

Specimen: Feces

– A concentrated test using formalin ether for intestinal parasites

– Acid fast staining to detect Cryptosporidium, Isospora and Cyclospora

– Chromatrope staining to detect Microsporidium. (only in special cases should contact the department before submitting samples)

– Parasitic culture on agar medium for Strong Gyloid parasites (only in special cases should contact the department before submitting samples)
