That led me to be interested in the mechanisms between nutrients and their metabolism in the human body. That’s why I want to develop a food that already exists in nature into a food that can resist or slow down various diseases in humans. I decided to continue my PhD in Biochemistry at the Faculty of Medicine. It can also be studied at the level of gene expression.

Research Interests

I am interested in proteins and peptides. Because protein is one of the important biomolecules in the human body. And recently, there have been studies on peptides from the protein hydrolysis process. These peptides were found to have bioactive properties in vitro and in vivo experiments. So that gave me the idea that peptides after the hydrolyzate process are not destroyed when passing through the gastrointestinal tract and showed biological activities, such as antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. Until I had the opportunity to meet with Assistant Professor Dr. Rawiwan Wongpoomchai, who is an expert in the development of healthy foods and anti-cancer peptides, my goal was to find a source of protein to make those peptides. Finally, I found a protein from the larval stage of the black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens), which is considered an edible insect and whose anticancer effects are still being studied. So, my research fields are insect proteins, bioactive peptides, antioxidant activity, anticarcinogenicity, chemoprevention, and functional food.

Email: Kwanchanok_PK@hotmail.com or Kwanchanok_pa@cmu.ac.th[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Class of 2018″ tab_id=”1679293684337-6005c35b-f96c”][vc_column_text]

Tanrada Likitsatian

(a.k.a.
